Samuel Guzman

Samuel "Sammy" Guzman, of Julesburg, CO, passed away in his home on January 4, 2024. He was 65.

Sammy was born on October 25, 1958, to Vicente Guzman and Josefina Mendoza Guzman in Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Sammy was married to Kari Kramer Guzman in 1995. Sam and Kari also had Kari's daughter, Amy Jo Torres.

He worked for the local railroads as a track foreman. He started on the Union Pacific Railroad and ended his career with the Short Line Railroad.

He is survived by his son Marcos Guzman and his six grandsons from Mexico; his sister, Amalia Diaz of Holdredge, NE, and three children, Juan Antonio Guzman Jr of Julesburg, CO, and his two children. Kari Kramer Guzman; stepdaughter Amy Jo Torres of Ogallala, NE, and her three children. He also had a large extended family consisting of many uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Josefina Mendoza Guzman and Vicente Guzman; brothers Jesse Guzman and Alvaro Guzman; sisters Blanca Estela Ramos and Rachel Jo Granillo.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Julesburg, CO.
