Roger Herman Hoffman, 89, of Julesburg, Colorado, passed away on January 28, 2024, at Longmont.
Roger was born on May 29, 1934, in Loveland, Colorado, to Herman and Helen (Bauer) Hoffman. He was baptized at the First German Congregational Church.
Roger entered the US Army in 1958, where he served for two years, receiving an honorable discharge in 1960 after achieving the rank of Corporal.
On June 27, 1965, Roger married Madelon Naomi Pfeiffer. He taught in the Julesburg school system for many years, holding multiple positions, including high school English teacher, 5th grade elementary teacher, and librarian. His service in education did not end at the public school, as he also served as Sunday School Superintendent at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years. Roger spent a few years working at the local grocery store before retiring for good. Roger enjoyed writing children's stories as a pastime for his two children.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Madelon Naomi Hoffman.
Survivors include his children, Barb Hoffman of Julesburg, Colorado; Marc (Lyn) Hoffman of Kearney, Nebraska; and one grandson, Jeremiah.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel at 9:30 am, with Reverend Gary Rahe officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley, Colorado at a later date.
