REX HARRINGTON, 82, longtime resident of Sedgwick/Ovid passed away Monday, September 2, 2019, at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver.
Rex was born on June 28, 1937, to VA and Vera (Leetsch) Harrington in Arthur, NE. Rex graduated from Arthur High School in 1955. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 1956 and was honorably discharged in May of 1958.
On August 7, 1959, Rex married his best friend and life partner, Barbara Markussen, and shared the rest of his life with her, raising three sons in Sedgwick.
Rex drove the school bus for 28 years, where he touched many young lives. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a die-hard Revere Raider fan. Wrestling was his favorite sport as all three of the boys, and three grandsons were wrestlers. In his younger years, he loved Hadley Barrett dances.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents VA and Vera Harrington and brothers Phil and Jack.
Rex is survived by his wife, Barb; son, Bill (wife Melanie) Harrington of Antlers, OK; grandchildren, Josh (wife Kailyn) Harrington of Durant, OK, Nikki ( husband Daniel) Luna of Lake Eufaula, OK, and Caleb Harrington of Dallas, TX; son, Randy (wife Teresa) Harrington of Antlers, OK; grandson, Paul (wife Nadia) Harrington of Norman OK; son, Todd (wife Missy) Harrington of Ovid, CO; grandchildren, Andrew Mason of Omaha, NE, Jessica Harrington of Ovid, CO, Tyson Herrick (fiance Shianne Fraass) of Crook, CO, Michelle (husband Jamie) Anchondo of Sedgwick, CO, Trevor (wife Kegan) Herrick of Stillwater, OK, and Seth Harrington of Albany, TX; 12 great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Max Harrington, brother, Bill Harrington; and sisters Wanda Moore, Shirley Eastman and Joni Nelson. Rex was also loved and will be missed by his extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the Revere High School Gym in Ovid, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Kristie Firme officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Sedgwick Cemetery in Sedgwick, CO.
