Matthew Lawrence Cole, 55, of Julesburg, Colorado, passed away on November 9, 2024, at his residence.
Matthew was born on April 12, 1969, in Aurora, Colorado, to Aubree Lee and Bobbie Neil (Dawson) Cole. Raised between Aurora and Arizona, he experienced a childhood shaped by his father's service in the U.S. Air Force. He completed his education in Tucson, Arizona.
On November 9, 1993, Matthew married Jessie Marie (Opdyke) in Greeley, Colorado. Together, they shared a life and family. Matthew worked in the construction industry for many years, primarily involving steel buildings in and around the Greeley area.
In 2020, Matthew relocated to Julesburg to be closer to his family. He worked in various roles over the years, notably as a butcher in his early career and later in construction. Known for his culinary skills, he loved to cook for family and friends. Matthew will be remembered for his big-hearted nature and his willingness to help others without hesitation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William; and a daughter, Crystal Cole.
Matthew is survived by his children, Rachell Cole of Arizona, Michael (Melody) Moore of Longmont, William Cole of Arizona, Matthew (Elisa) Cole of Julesburg; Nicholas Cole of Greeley, Nathaniel Daniels of Greeley; former spouse, Jessie Cole of Greeley; and numerous grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph Cole of Julesburg, Mary Koch of Iowa, and Belinda Cole of Indiana, along with extended family and friends who mourn his loss.
