Kelly Joe Hill

KELLY JOE HILL, 40 of Sterling, CO, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020, at his home.

Kelly was born December 2, 1979, at Julesburg, Colorado, to Larry L. and Christina L. (Vath) Hill. He graduated from Revere High School with the class of 1999.

Kelly worked at The Cage restaurant in Ovid for several years before going to work at D&L.

Kelly's favorite thing to do was go fishing, especially in the North Platte River. He enjoyed a variety of music and generally felt that it wasn't worth playing if it wasn't turned up loud.

Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Larry; grandparents, Robert (Leola) Hill and Leslie (Lois) Vath; and niece and nephew, Alicia and Matthew Hackbart.

Survivors include his mother, Christina of Julesburg; siblings, Eric Hill of Sterling, Tammy Hill of Ogallala, and Tina Zajec of Big Springs; nieces and nephews, Holly, Timothy, Jonathon, Dee, Kaylee, Wade, Leola, Gabriel, Michael, Carson, and Jaxson; uncles, Eric (Catherine) Vath of Lincoln, James (Dolly) Vath of Big Springs; aunt, Julia (Michael) Everitt of Big Springs; along with many other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Kelly's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsjulesburg.com.

Memorial services for Kelly will be Monday, August 17, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Julesburg with Father Mike O'Brien officiating. Attendees are encouraged to not only wear masks but also your favorite band or concert T-shirt.
