It is with great sadness that we share the passing of D. Diane Bauerle. Diane, 83, passed away peacefully, survived by her family on April 5, 2025, at the Sedgwick County Hospital.
Dee, as she was affectionately known, was born August 4, 1941, to Raymond and Dorothy Whitman in Pueblo, CO. As she was growing up, she enjoyed spending time with family and going to their cabin in Beulah, CO. Her dad could always count on her to help him at their drug store.
Upon graduating from Pueblo Central High School, she embarked on an adventure to Colorado State University where she studied child development. It is there she met her beloved husband Gene Bauerle. Through a relationship of unbreakable love, they married on June 14, 1964... and never looked back.
Dee moved to the Bauerle family farm south of Julesburg. She was known in the community for her kindness and beautiful spirit. Dee worked at Spears Drug and taught at the Almar School, where she loved working with children with special needs. Dee became a dedicated farm wife and mother. She absolutely loved being outside and helping Gene on the farm. Her passion for caring for others was evident in her joy of gardening and cooking. There was always food to be made and shared at the Bauerle house. An unwavering gifting spirit that always offered everything she had. Her love of gardening reflected her nurturing heavenly spirit. Every year, her garden was filled with flowers, vegetables, and love.
Dee will be remembered for her infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. Dee was active at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, served on the funeral committee, Circle, teaching Sunday School, and VBS. Dee enjoyed time with friends playing bridge, Garden Club, and Supper Club, volunteering at the Hippodrome, Home Sweet Home (at the nursing home), and cheering on the CSU Rams at football games.
Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. Although Dee's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred and Albert.
Survivors include husband Gene, daughter Lisa (Jim) Marks, daughter Brenda (Josh) Lechman, grandchildren Jessica and Brianna Marks, Collin and Shelby Lechman, sister-in-law Karolyn (Richard) Radke, and many nieces and nephews.
