Judith Marie Powell, died unexpectedly October 27, 2022, at home in Cranberry Township, PA.
She was born September 26, 1946, in Julesburg, CO, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Nein) Krumm. During high school, Judy was active in the band, choir and was a cheerleader, graduating from Ovid High School, Class of 1964.
Following graduation, she studied at Barnes Business School in Denver, CO. Judy married the love of her life, Ted Powell, on her birthday, September 26 th 1965, and settled in Longmont, CO, where Ted started his 47-year career with IBM in Boulder. This is also where their two children were born, Gregory Ray and Colleen Marie.
Ted and Judy made several moves, including Milwaukee, WI, Omaha, NE, Baltimore, MD, Southlake, TX, and Trophy Club, TX, before building a house in Cranberry, PA, to be close to their children. While in Texas, Judy and Ted were faithful members of the Whites Chapel Methodist Church, where Judy sang in the 80-member choir. Their choir sang in many locations around the world, including the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, as well as the American Cemetery at Normandy and the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Along with raising their children and making a home, Judy worked as a buyer in various industries, including medical and steel. No matter where she lived and worked, she made many lifelong friends.
In their 57 years of marriage, Judy and Ted traveled all over the world. Some of their amazing journeys included the mountains of Machu Picchu, Giant Tortoises in the Galapagos Islands, the blue and white houses on the coast of Santorini, and the elephants on an African safari. They shared a 12-hour trek across the Ukraine to attend a three-day wedding. They loved seeing the world together, with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Henry and Marie Krumm, Judy was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth and Eugene; nephews, Philip and Paul Krumm; brothers-in-law, Gene (Jean), Bob (Betty), Bernard, Rex (Beverly) and sister-in-law, Mildred (Zeke) Zimmerman.
She is survived by her husband, Ted; her children, Greg (Tori), of Sewickley, PA, and Colleen (Bill) Kasenic of Pittsburgh, PA; along with grandson, Spencer Powell Kasenic; her brother, Gary (Carol) of Holyoke CO; sisters in law, Dorthy Krumm of Hastings NE, Betty Powell of Ovid, CO, and brother-in-law, Chuck (Joan) Powell of Ovid, CO along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Prairie Hills Funeral Home, 310 West 5th Street, Julesburg, CO, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A service of remembrance will be held at the Ovid Methodist Church, 203 5th Street, Ovid, CO, on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Ovid Cemetery with a lunch.
